It’s a beautiful day…(pretend Bono is singing in the background). It’s going to be a beautiful day tomorrow. Why not do something outdoors? “Whale of a Day” is a festival celebrating the migration of the Pacific Gray Whale from its summer feeding grounds in the Bering and Chuchki Seas in Alaska to the winter breeding and calving grounds in Baja California. The event is being held at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is FREE to the public. There are activities for children ~ face painting, children’s crafts, chalk drawing, story telling, small children’s games ~ all at no charge. There are also exhibits, craft and food vendors and a raffle drawing. For all the details, follow the link above.
Also going on tomorrow is the Santa Anita Food Truck Festival. Over 50 food trucks will be at Santa Anita starting at 10 a.m. Admission is free for kids and it’s $5 for adults. There is a kid’s zone with bouncers and games at a nominal charge. There is also a playground in the infield. If you go, remember to take your quad chairs and blankets to sit on…and an empty stomach! If you’re still hungry afterwards, head over to my favorite dumpling restaurant, Din Tai Fung.Din Tai Fung 1088 S. Baldwin Ave. Arcadia, CA 91007
Have a nice weekend!
