Have you visited Rancho Los Cerritos yet? It only popped up on my radar because my friend toured it as part of her son’s Cub Scout requirement. Rancho Los Cerritos was once the home of the Bixby family, who developed the Long Beach area. It is a beautifully preserved and one of the few remaining two-story adobe homes from the Mexican Rancho period.
On Sunday, December 8 from 1-4 p.m., Rancho Los Cerritos will host an Old Time Christmas Festival. It will feature costumed docents, festive holiday music, old-fashioned crafts, and light refreshments. Youngsters will also enjoy storytelling, a visit with Santa, and more! Even if you don’t make it out for this event, I still highly recommend a visit to this historic site. They are open Wednesday thru Sunday from 1-5 p.m. All tours are free and led by a living history docent.
